This week I’ve spent a lot of time diving into the depths of ‘What’s Next’?
What is the next BIG breakthrough that will transform the way salons and spas do business and how they will capitalise on the endless opportunities around them.
I’ve got a whole list of things that any forward thinking salon/spa owner should be doing now to take the lead and remain there for the next 5, 10, 15 years.
I’m also in the throws of developing an ELITE group of salon/spa owners looking to create real wealth form their businesses. And I’m talking 7 figures and up.
I mean creating 5 to 6 figure monthly recurring income with little work.
Making that happen requires a lot of ‘mindset’ changes. The biggest one being ‘YOU CAN do it’…

BUT, I KNOW THERE ARE LIKELY MORE PRESSING ISSUES FOR YOU THAN MAKING A MILLION (there should NOT be but…).
Today’s mail is about how to attract all the clients you could ever want.
It’s very simple – Offer something for FREE.
There is hands down NO faster way to get people into your salon or spa than to give them something FREE.
None.
Yet, most people will not do it through fear of:
- Giving away profit.
- People taking the mickey.
- Concern they won’t come back.
- Laziness.
I’ll answer each in turn.
- Yep, it WILL cost you to give something away for free. BUT, it is a FALSE economy to believe you’re really giving anything away. I won’t go into it in too much detail but, it ALWAYS costs money to attract a new client. Don’t concern yourself with that. Concern yourself with how much they will spend with you over their lifetime as a client. It may cost you £5 to do a freebie and then they spend £500 with over the next couple of years. How many of those would you like????
- People WILL take the mickey! Some will just come in for the freebie and never come back. In all likelihood they’ll be usual clients of your competitors ‘on the spy’. Here’s what to say and think when that happens ‘Um…Interesting’…Then forget it and move on.
- Some won’t come back. BUT, it’s UP TO YOU to make sure they do. Make sure you have a full step by step client welcome and follow up campaign in place (get my Client Attraction System if you’re not doing that www.magnetiscalons.com/report.pdf.
- You’re not lazy! Are you? I doubt it, you’re reading this. BUT, the single biggest reason for not getting what you want is procrastination. You know it makes sense, you even know what to do…But you just don’t do it…Why? Lack of goals. You must KNOW what you want to achieve.
Now, given those excuses are NOT valid. Here’s how you should use the FREE giveaway.
It must be of perceived value to your prospective client. Things that work well include:
- Free consultations – these are great! You get to ask the client loads of questions, find out what they’re looking for then give them a whole plan of treatments to fix those probs! BUT, the perceived value isn’t always that high. Some prospects will be a little ‘wise’ to the idea…
- A free treatment – yep, give ‘em something for free. The trick is to use something which is labour based and not product based and use spare time your or employees have to deliver the treatment. Better to be giving a free file and varnish treatment than have someone sat idle…
- A free open evening with drinks and food.
- A free product (not recommended).
And there are tons more.
BUT, it’s no good just giving away something free and then leaving it at that. If you do, you waste the money…You MUST have a precise, tested, proven follow up sequence to convert those freebie clients into loyal client.

There is NO faster way to build you client base than this. None, nada, zilch.
And guess what sort of economy it works even better in…
Well, what are people looking for when their stressed, down, fed up hearing about doom and gloom…You got it…A bit of pampering. And don’t think they don’t have money to spend…Nearly all DO…
